Join the Mid Year Challenge! 

April 2021

Choose a virtual race or The Walking FED.

  • Mid Year 5K 

  • Mid Year 10K

                              

  • Mid Year Half Marathon

  • THE WALKING FED – Most miles walked in the month of April

**Treadmills may be used for the 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Walking Fed challenges.

WHO: 

  • Federal employees  (current /former)

  • Friend of the Feds Get Fit  /  Federal Athletics Foundation  (open to the public)

  • Member of the DOL Running Teams (Black, Gold, OIG)

  • Participant of the annual B2V race 

  • Veterans of the United States military  (current /former)



 

 

WHEN/HOW:     

Register at any point between March 26th and April 30th and then participate in  one (or all) of the virtual races prior to 11:59pm (PDT) on April 30, 2021. This virtual challenge can take place anywhere in the continental United States, Hawaii and its properties.

 

Once you complete the 5K /10K / Half Marathon, send an email with your name and your time to info@federalathletics.org (time submissions due by 11:59pm (PDT) on May 2, 2021).


 

RULES FOR THE 5K /10K/ Half Marathon:  Although you may enter several events, you are only eligible to win a prize in one of the races.  You can track your time and distance by signing up for strava and joining the Federal Athletics Club.  (FREE VERSION).  You must provide a screen shot / picture of your running app to prove your running time.  

 

RULES FOR THE WALKING FED:   

You should use a GPS app (Fitbit, Nike Run Club, MapMyWalk, etc.) or treadmill to track your miles for the entire month.  **A log will be emailed out to those who registered for The Walking FED challenge.

Walkers are required to submit their Walking FED mileage (by May 2nd) to info@federalathletics.org
 

 

PRIZES

All registered participants (runners / walkers) who complete the challenge AND submit their results will receive a free face mask (while supplies last).  These masks were sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and a sample can be found HERE.

All registered participants that run the 5K (3.1 miles), 10K (6.2 miles) or Half Marathon (13.1 miles) and submit their time to info@federalathletics.org will be entered to win a Federal Athletics T-Shirt.     The shirts will be  earned by those that record the fastest times in their titled category.  There is both a womens and mens division and the top five of each division will earn a shirt.

Top five walkers (Men and Womens division) will win a  "The Walking Fed" T-Shirt.  The Greater Los Angeles Federal Executive Board / So Cal Feds Get Fit is sponsoring this challenge.   Walkers are required to submit their Walking FED mileage to info@federalathletics.org
